Storage services
Storage services are sub-divided into different offerings that deliver services that allow different methods for the storage and delivery of data. Examples include the following service offerings:
- Amazon Elastic Block Storage (EBS): Allows virtual machine instances and containers to attach and use block storage volumes of different sizes with shared or provisioned performance
- Amazon Elastic File System (EFS): Allows storing files in a standard network filesystem approach
- Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3): Allows storing various static data via a standardized web-accessible platform
- Amazon Glacier: A data-archiving system that can be used to lifecycle data from S3 or as a standalone low-cost archiving solution
- AWS Storage Gateway: Allows connecting on-premises data with the AWS storage infrastructure
- AWS Snow Family: Provides data transfer services for physically moving one-time data from on-premises to the cloud at tera- and peta-byte scales
